Forced to Become a Mortician, I Became a Star in the Underworld

Chen Mo was an ordinary funeral makeup artist until he accidentally touched a departed soul while restoring the face of a woman killed in a car accident. The Underworld forcibly bound him as a "provisional funeral envoy." To stay alive and keep evil spirits away from his father's grave, he had no choice but to accept assignments from the Underworld.

His first case was preparing for burial a young woman who had mysteriously "jumped to her death." Using his yang sight, Chen Mo glimpsed the truth of her murder in a vision: the killer was Lin Shicheng, a member of the family that had hired him. To expose the truth, Chen Mo livestreamed the funeral preparations, sending shock waves through both the living and the dead. This made him a "celebrity" in the Underworld and won him a chance to trade with the Meng Po Bureau, but it came at a terrible cost: each case he investigated took a month off his lifespan.

As the investigation deepened, Chen Mo discovered that the young woman's death was only the tip of the iceberg. It was tied to a "Seven Souls Sacrifice" plot, with something buried beneath the ancestral hall in Qingshi'ao for fifteen years. Chen Mo himself was not only the next sacrifice in the scheme, but also found that the cause of his mother's death and his childhood memories concealed a colossal lie capable of turning his entire understanding of the world upside down.
