The story is set in modern and contemporary China, with its main plot spanning late 2010 to early 2020. Real locations and fictional place names coexist. Beneath five thousand years of Chinese civilization lie countless ancient tombs and ruins, some of which have never been officially recorded. Among the people, they are known as “hidden tombs.”
Hidden tombs are more than burial sites. They are historical turning points deliberately erased from memory, secret vaults that some people would die to keep sealed, while others would die to dig open.
