This is a youth growth story. Pu Yu, a young girl, escapes her father's forced marriage and goes to live with her grandmother in a small town from the city. She meets Yuan Su, who has to live alone because of her father's debt and her mother's illness. Yuan Su was withdrawn at first, but he helped Pu Yu many times when he was in trouble. Pu Yu responded with warmth, and the two became each other's light in each other's dark lives. The story is interspersed with bits and pieces of campus life, showing the touching emotions of the two people supporting each other, growing together in difficult situations, adhering to kindness, and redeeming each other.
