Great Ming: The Crown Prince's Grandson Houses an Emperor of the Ages

I am Zhu Yunwen, grandson of the Ming emperor. I have always been gentle by nature, and wanted to rule the realm through benevolence and filial piety.

But within me, the soul of Qin Shi Huang, the emperor for the ages, has awakened.

During the Jingnan Campaign, the Prince of Yan’s troops take up position in the middle of the river. I want to lead the campaign myself and put down the rebellion, but the court officials keep me trapped in the palace, invoking “the laws of our ancestors.” They are secretly colluding with the enemy, seeking only to preserve their own wealth and glory.

The civil officials say that if I seal away the “tyrant” within me, the Prince of Yan will withdraw and peace will return to the realm.

I watch as the emperor for the ages, trying to protect my heart and spirit, is shattered by the so-called dragon aura of Heaven’s will.

At that moment, the Imperial Guards snap their embroidered sabers in two, the Divine Machine Battalion levels its firearms, and veteran border troops kneel until the bricks beneath them crack…

The officials think I will once again issue an edict blaming myself and make concessions.

Instead, I set fire to the memorials full of their talk of benevolence and righteousness, draw the Son of Heaven’s sword, and don the bloodstained dragon robe!

“If benevolent rule cannot save the Ming, then today I shall become a true tyrant!”

“By my imperial decree: not one civil official in this hall is to be spared. Kill them all!”

From this day onward, the Ming will live by a different code!
