Long Muqing died, then came back to life.

When she woke, she was in the Great Yin Dynasty, a cultivation world where sword immortals soar through the skies and imperial power changes hands. With no spiritual roots or connections, she was a useless transmigrator armed with nothing but modern knowledge. She had planned to find a mountain, grow crops, make pills, and lie low until she ascended. But she soon discovered that this world was uncannily like the work she had been obsessed with in her previous life: the Nine Peaks Sword Sect, the Blood Demon Palace, the Sun Wheel Sword Style… Only everyone’s fate had long since veered off course.

Then she caught the eye of the Violet Butterfly Poison Immortal, Shinobu Kocho. Shinobu was gentle, smiling as she tended Muqing’s wounds. Shinobu was cruel, interrogating demons with poison without so much as a change in expression. Long Muqing thought all she had to do was avoid becoming a lab rat in Shinobu’s pharmacy. But she was wrong. In a secret chamber on Butterfly Peak, a beauty lay sleeping in an ice coffin. With her disguise stripped away, Shinobu knelt before the coffin, her devotion warped and obsessive. “Sister, you’ll wake up soon.”

Then she turned to Long Muqing in the shadows and smiled faintly. “You saw everything? Perfect… Muqing, I need your soul as the medicinal catalyst for my sister’s treatment.” Only then did Long Muqing understand: she hadn’t transmigrated into a farming novel, but into a manual for raising a possessive, yandere poison doctor. Run? Where could a little novice who hadn’t even reached Foundation Establishment escape to, with a great master at the Deity Transformation stage watching her? Perhaps her only way to survive wasn’t to flee, but to enter that scarred heart and turn its terminal obsession into a devotion meant for her alone.
