Synopsis

In the future, overpopulation and dwindling resources have pushed the government to launch the “Return to Origin Project,” claiming it can send people into the past to begin a second life.

Twenty years ago, Lu Chen's father joined the project.

In the footage sent back by the authorities, his father sat beneath a peach tree and smiled at him. “Xiao Chen, Dad is doing just fine here.”

Lu Chen believed him for twenty years.

Until he saw that very peach tree in an abandoned studio.

The tree was fake.

The wind was fake.

His father's so-called new life was fake, too.

The so-called Return to Origin Project had never been about transmigration.

It was a human purge disguised as a beautiful dream.

But as Lu Chen continued his investigation, he discovered that his father wasn't dead.

He was trapped on the ninth basement level of the Return to Origin Center, serving as a temporal anchor.

And Lu Chen himself was the next target the System had been waiting twenty years for.

Top-Tier Sci-Fi Novels with Huge Ideas!

Not the usual bland stuff. Science fiction should actually feel like science fiction, but every tech tree is the same old thing: nuclear power and dark matter. I'm sick of it. Give me something with a fully realized world, consistent logic, and a completely original field of science!
