My name is Lin Zhiyi, and I restore antique paintings. My specialty is putting broken things back together.
That was until I met Gu Shixu, a man living in a world where time runs in the opposite direction from mine.
My time moves forward; his moves backward.
The first time we met, he looked at me with red-rimmed eyes and said, “You finally came.”
I didn't know him, but he had already fallen in love with me again and again through eight cycles of reincarnation.
Our worlds overlap once every hundred years, and we can meet for only ten days each time.
After those ten days, he will forget me.
The next time our worlds overlap, he will be younger, and his memories of me will have faded even more.
The day his last ember burns out will be the day he vanishes from the world for good.
So before he forgets me completely, I have to find the legendary hourglass,
reverse the rules, and keep him by my side.
But the price of using the hourglass is this:
If I save him, I will have to forget him.
