This dynasty has a book called The Register of Women’s Fates. The moment a girl is born, the judgment on her whole life is written inside.
Virtuous wife, good mother, chaste woman, jealous wife, seductress, poison-hearted woman, husband-killer, threat to the kingdom...
Shen Zhaoye is the official in charge of the Register of Women’s Fates, tasked with deciding the destinies of women throughout the land.
Until one day, she opens her own page and reads:
“Shen Zhaoye, born a wicked woman. Harms her elder sister at nineteen, kills her husband at twenty, brings ruin to the kingdom at twenty-one, and dies by lingchi.”
She takes up her brush and crosses out “dies by lingchi.”
The register seeps blood, and a new sentence appears:
“Those who defy fate will die tonight.”
From that day on, she begins rewriting the fates of wicked women everywhere...
