Logic Subdues the Strange

[The Paranormal Awakens + No System + Fresh Worldbuilding + Insanity + No Saintly Hero + Supernatural Powers]

When the paranormal begins to revive, others rely on sheer toughness to survive. He relies on his brain.

In the modern city, logic is starting to fracture: the shadows in a neighborhood point the wrong way, a new stop appears on the subway, and the people around you don't remember how they got here. The paranormal isn't ghosts, but the embodiment of distorted rules. Behind every paranormal incident, a warped logic is at work.

Find the rules, and you can find the loopholes. Find the loopholes, and the paranormal becomes prey.

Shen Yan is an actuarial analyst and an exceptionally rare "analytical Awakened" in this paranormal resurgence. He has no superpowers or intuitive premonitions, only a mind that never loses its thread, no matter how terrifying things get.

He reconstructs rules through reverse analysis, probes their limits with fuzz testing, and lays out layered plans to lure the paranormal into graves of its own making. But when the paranormal reaches its final form, and the rules themselves begin to die, logic is no longer a weapon. He must write the first law amid the chaos of a world with no rules.

The paranormal follows laws. He enforces them.
