“One emperor commands the Four Forms Art; the four royal houses each inherit a branch. Those who greedily cultivate across realms meet their end.” This iron decree, issued by Emperor Xuanyuan Chenshuo, founder of the Great Yan Dynasty, hung like a sword over the heads of the four royal houses, whose ancestors had helped establish the dynasty, for a century. Even after the old emperor retired, the new Emperor Yanyuan, Xuanyuan Yao, continued to suppress the four houses with an iron fist. A hundred years ago, war ravaged the land and the realm was torn apart. Xuanyuan Chenshuo, blessed with the fortune of an emperor, seized the moment and rose to power. He won the support of the four great masters of the land and established his dynasty. In the process, he learned the powers of water, fire, earth, and wood, which the masters had spent decades mastering. Combining the strengths of all four schools, he created a supreme cultivation art that surpassed even the four masters: the Four Forms Origin Control Art. He earned the title of Emperor Shuoyan and founded the Great Yan Dynasty. To consolidate imperial authority and prevent the four masters from rebelling, he promptly issued this iron decree. Any royal house that sought to grow strong enough to threaten the throne would be deemed guilty of treason, and its entire clan would be executed. To break this deadlock, Wei Lingxiao, who transmigrated to the Great Yan Dynasty, begins a cultivation contest with Emperor Shuoyan: the Plan to Break the Sky.
Whoever first comprehends the fifth element, the power of wind, will command the wind and soar through the skies. They will become a master of the skies and look down upon all the heroes of the world.
It's a pretty good plot.
The setting is clear and concise, the world view is quite orderly, and the division of forces is easy to understand. The logical rhythm of the story is easy to understand, the scene description is convenient for fantasy, and the overall story is acceptable.
