The Regent Princess: What’s Wrong With Keeping a Harem of Male Favorites?

[1vN, serious drama, everyone is career-minded, men who are fiercely loyal]

I am Chu Minghui, the most powerful Grand Princess since the founding of the Great Sheng dynasty.

Born to the Empress, I was raised in luxury and doted on from childhood. At fifteen, I left the palace and established my own residence in extravagant style. At twenty, I helped my brother ascend the throne and became the most powerful figure in court.

In less than three years, I had taken lovers and seized power. Even the emperor, my brother, whom I had helped all the way to the throne, began to fear me.

Some in court called me an unnatural woman who meddled in politics and flouted propriety.

But the men I set my sights on are far more than mere lovers.

They scheme for me in court, spy on the realm, rally the troops, save lives, and more...

And then there is the wolf I recently picked up, bound against his will. He, too, has become the sharpest blade in my hand.

The autumn examinations, a prince's tribute, the winter hunt and reckoning, an emergency on the frontier, the grand altar for the rites to Heaven... Every step in court is taken on the edge of a cliff.

When my mother, the Empress Dowager, dies, my brother finally tears off his tender, affectionate mask.

As the executioner's blade falls, amid flames across the city, the men who once knelt at my skirts don armor and draw their swords, their eyes burning bright:

“We welcome Your Highness to the throne!”
