[1970s setting · rugged men · size difference · female growth · one woman, multiple men · romantic rivalry · making a fortune]

The 1970s.

To pay off her father's debts, Lin Hongxing breaks up with her childhood sweetheart and marries a paralyzed war hero.

As soon as her husband dies, she becomes a tempting catch in the eyes of every bachelor.

Zhang Shouye, the demobilized soldier next door, quietly watches over her.

When she wants to learn a trade, he teaches her step by step.

When she runs into hooligans, he bravely takes up a knife to defend her.

One night, she climbs onto his kang bed. “Uncle, help me...”

From then on, she sneaks over the wall every night. In private, they're all sweetness; in public, they act like strangers.

People gossip that the little widow keeps getting involved with men who are more capable than the last.

They have a point.

Her childhood sweetheart pulls her into the back seat of a Santana. “Didn't you like money? I've got some now. It's all yours.”

A refined, gentle young intellectual sent to the countryside pins her in a corner. “I've got a permit to return to the city. I'll take you with me.”

The son of the supply-and-marketing cooperative director wraps an arm around her waist and whispers in her ear, “Sis, I'll take all the goods your family has. Will you give them to me?”

The cold-faced, rugged Zhang Shouye goes frantic. “Marry me! I'll raise pigs and support you!”

After weathering countless twists and turns, Lin Hongxing is even more certain of what she wants.
