[Pure farming]+ [Fleeing famine during years of disaster]
My own grandmother is cruel to the bone!
My mother risked her life to give birth to my little sister, but Grandma wanted to carry the newborn straight to the mass grave in the back hills to die, just because she was a girl!
I rushed forward and stopped her, refusing to give an inch. In front of all the neighbors, I confronted my biased grandmother and stood my ground, forcing the family to agree to let our branch of the family split off and live on our own.
After moving out, I worked desperately with my parents to make a living. I went up the mountain to gather herbs and sell them for money, while my father went hunting to help support the family.
Who could have guessed we'd run into a bear in the mountains? After a fierce struggle, my father was badly wounded and only just survived.
Just as life was starting to get better, disaster struck without warning. Two years of drought left not a blade of grass growing, and the whole village was forced to flee in search of food.
I had planned ahead and stocked up on food and supplies, keeping my whole family safe from the famine.
