A modern soul transmigrated by accident and opened his eyes to find that he had become Zhu Ganglie, who had just been cast down from heaven and mistakenly reborn in a pig’s body in Journey to the West.
In his previous life, he had been Marshal Tianpeng, commander of eighty thousand soldiers of the Celestial River. A single drunken offense against the laws of Heaven had left him with a human body and a pig’s face, living in Cloud-Stack Cave in miserable circumstances. He was destined to be subdued by Sun Wukong and set off on the pilgrimage in disgrace, as the constantly mocked second disciple, Zhu Bajie.
Reborn with the complete memories of Journey to the West and a modern way of thinking, he refuses to repeat that miserable fate!
He awakens an astounding opportunity, rebuilds Tianpeng’s supreme divine powers, tempers a formidable demon body, and wields the Nine-Toothed Rake. He sweeps away demons across the mortal realm, challenges the laws of Heaven, and overturns the fate laid out for him.
He will not be a tool for the pilgrimage, manipulated by others. He will not be a cowardly pig demon who clings to life!
Under the name Zhu Ganglie, he smashes the Three Realms’ prejudices, restores Tianpeng’s glory, and faceslapps powerful foes, seizes opportunities, and rewrites the course of Journey to the West. In the end, he becomes a supreme demon sovereign who shakes the Three Realms, one whom no one dares to slight, and forges his own path to defying Heaven and attaining the Dao!
