Neon Kindling: I’m a Comedian in 207X

After failing 38 job interviews, Lin Mo clicked on a “Transmigrate Experience” ad and opened his eyes in a scrapyard in 207X. In a neon-lit wasteland where spare parts are worth more than human lives, this overworked office drone from 2026 has no System, no foreknowledge, just a razor-sharp tongue honed by HR and a heart set on lying flat. He awakens “Soul Echo,” which lets him read the memories of cybernetic bodies, but each use costs him a memory from 2026. His hometown grows hazier by the day, and becoming stronger or staying human turns into an either-or choice.

From the scrapyard to a jack-of-all-trades shop, he picks up Jiu Di, a runaway agent; Pan Lan, an heir to a powerful family; Li Beika, a deranged sniper; and Mei Li, a fangirl researcher who writes him into her fanfiction. Four heroines, each with her own story, and a battlefield of romantic rivalry that blows up every day. Even the villains are more than stock characters: Gang Zhen, who rebuilt himself for his first love; Hua Jian, an obsessive collector; and Kai Yin, driven mad for the sake of his daughter... Every enemy has a past that hits hard, and some even get redeemed later on.

When the sharp edge of 207X meets the wisecracks of 2026, workplace humor lends warmth to the cold world of cyberpunk. This isn’t an invincible power-up story, but a wasteland legend about fighting darkness with laughter. Lin Mo only wants to lie flat and mooch meals, but fate insists on making him the spark that lights the wasteland.
