The Prince Gets Drunk the Moment He Touches Alcohol

Hotheaded loyal guard × scheming prince | Revenge and a comeback | Mutual devotion | Fighting side by side

Yan Qi is the most unruly personal guard in the Canglan Prince’s residence. Proud, hot-tempered, and quick to get even, he doesn’t care about rank or respect. Even when his master, Qing Xinglan, is drunk and at his mercy, he dares to grab him by the cheeks and kick him to vent his frustration.

No one knows that Yan Qi is the orphan of Yan Chongyuan, a general who defended the northern border. The treacherous minister Zhao Henian slaughtered the entire Yan family, and Qing Xinglan rescued Yan Qi from a mountain of corpses, raising him as a covert guard. He has endured and plotted in secret, all to help Yan Qi take revenge.

Once a foul-mouthed boy who knew only how to wield a sword to protect others, Yan Qi starts studying documents and mastering court politics to catch up with Qing Xinglan. He sheds his violent streak and steadily grows until he can stand shoulder to shoulder with the prince.

As their feelings deepen, a second entanglement brought on by an aphrodisiac not only quietly changes Qing Xinglan’s tendency to get drunk as soon as he touches alcohol, but also lets him hear Yan Qi’s thoughts. The young man, however, remains oblivious.

An imperial betrothal finally brings them together. On their wedding night, the emperor first takes back the military tally, then personally entrusts it to them again.

Leaving the tenderness of the prince’s residence behind, they head to the frontier together on imperial orders, guarding the realm’s vast lands side by side.
