He Calls Me Daddy

Jiang Yuci was a somewhat well-known voice actor in the dubbing industry. After offending a powerful figure in the business, he was forced to change careers and start over at the voice-streaming platform M-Space.

On the day of his audition, he never expected a low, gentle voice to make his heart skip a beat. Its owner was Shen Yanzhou, M-Space’s star host, nicknamed “walking ASMR.” His avatar was a soft, fluffy cloud. He always spoke at an unhurried pace and treated everyone with warmth and courtesy, as if he could never get angry.

Jiang Yuci’s little electric avatar was a purple octopus wearing a tiny top hat. He awkwardly claimed he’d “just bought it on a whim,” though he’d actually spent three hours choosing it in the middle of the night.

He thought Shen Yanzhou was equally gentle with everyone, until a PK punishment forced him to call Shen “Daddy” in front of the entire chatroom.

After that, Shen Yanzhou looked at him differently.

Possessiveness crept into his tenderness, and restraint into his thoughtfulness.

What Jiang Yuci didn’t know was that the first time Shen Yanzhou heard his voice, he had quietly changed his own avatar. A little star appeared on the cloud, the same kind as the one on Jiang Yuci’s octopus hat.

“What did you call me? Say it again.”

“...In your dreams.”

“Then I’m not letting go.”

“Shen Yanzhou, you, ”

“Call me Daddy.”
