Xianxia, bickering couple, healing and redemption, mind reading, tragic romance, one-on-one
Xia Qiuyue, the beloved daughter of the leader of the Xuandao Sect, sneaks down the mountain in disguise as a man for a little fun. On a stormy night, she takes shelter in a ruined temple, only to encounter two unexpected visitors in succession: first, a fugitive covered in wounds, then the young demon lord Liu Jiangxin, who arrives at a leisurely stroll.
She watches Liu Jiangxin pin the man to the wall with a branch, smiling as if it were nothing. Realizing she might be next, Xia Qiuyue promptly drops to her knees and begs for mercy, putting on an award-winning performance.
But Liu Jiangxin sees through her disguise at a glance. At the same time, he suddenly discovers that he can hear her thoughts!
“Oh no, oh no, oh no. He’s even scarier than the stories say… He is good-looking, but that smile makes him look like a psychopath…”
The “young master” trembles on the outside, while an endless stream of commentary plays in her mind. Liu Jiangxin finds her thoughts painfully noisy, yet also thinks this toy is so amusing that it would be a shame to kill her.
So he makes a decision: he will keep her by his side.
One is a demon lord who has killed countless people and delights in tormenting his prey. The other is a righteous sect heiress who seems obedient but has a vivid inner life. As they spend each day together, mind reading leaves them nowhere to hide. Xia Qiuyue nervously conceals that she is a woman, while Liu Jiangxin grows increasingly irritated by the noise in her head, yet gradually gets used to hearing her voice.
What he does not know is that the moment he starts caring about what she is thinking, the strings of fate have already begun to move.
