The Nine Fruits Return to the Origin

People are no ordinary people, and immortals are no divine beings. A heartwarming slice-of-life comedy about everyday folks.

An ensemble cast where everyone has their issues and they help each other through them. Best enjoyed with a dose of Zhang Dapao-brand blood pressure medication.

A million-word epic with a slow-burn growth arc. The fruit will ripen in time, so settle in and enjoy.

Zheng Xiaoshi is an ordinary convenience store clerk whose only plans are to work the night shift and sneak a nap in the camera's blind spot. His greatest wish in life is simple: no arguments, no trouble, and a paycheck on time.

Then Zhang Dapao, who fries dough sticks until they catch fire; Zhao Nengren, a taxi driver who crashes into road barriers; Zhou Kaopu, divorced but still issuing marriage certificates for other people every day; and five more eccentric neighbors come crashing into his checkout counter like eight cannonballs.

They argue and make a scene, constantly undermining one another, turning the daily grind of food, rent, and bills into a battle of immortals. Zheng Xiaoshi is at his wit's end and just wants to shut up shop for good.

Then one day, out of habit, he raises his barcode scanner and points it at a glowing fruit in midair that nobody has paid for.

“Beep!”

The machine rings out crisply.

“Unknown product: Nine Qualities of Life, added to inventory.”

From that moment on, his convenience store becomes a dispatch office for miracles.

No flying on swords, just riding electric scooters the wrong way down the street;

No cultivating immortality and leveling up, just dark circles after a night without sleep;

No ascending to godhood, just a group of flawed sinners clumsily learning love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control amid the chaos of everyday life.

This is a slice-of-life comedy for ordinary people.
