Who says regrets have to stay buried in your heart? I'll make it right for you in a dream.
Shen Jibai is the only orthodox dreamweaver left in the modern world. His ancestors left him both a rule and a shop. He complains that it's a hassle, but deep down, he can't help getting involved a little more than he should. He makes a living with his craft, and quietly takes on the things others can't bring themselves to swallow.
Tucked away in the depths of the old arcades on Huaiyin Street, the Dream Collector's Shop looks like an antique restoration store by day. It only takes its real business at night. Some people want to eat their mother's cooking one more time. Some want to return to a crossroads in life they once missed. Others only want to know whether their cat has forgiven them.
The ancestral rules are simple: Make only wishful dreams, never nightmares. Mend regrets, never change reality. When the dream ends, the client must return to their own life. Every dream begins with a real old object: a thermal lunchbox, a worn button, an expired train ticket. Shen Jibai uses it to weave an immersive dream for someone, letting them enter, then helping them wake.
Amid the regrets of ordinary people, he slowly learns to take every little wish seriously. The Dream Collector's Shop, A Gui's ledger, Lao Zhou's noodle shop, and the whole old street become a source of genuine warmth in a corner of the city. Dreams help people wake up, and then they carry on with their lives.
Each story has some regrets and some things make people cry. Come on💪
