After Their Divorce, He Begged Her to Renew Their Contract

On the day they were to divorce, Pei Yanzhi tore up the divorce agreement. “I won't divorce you.”

Shen Zhaoning pulled a second copy from her sleeve. “I told you, I wrote several.”

On their wedding night three years earlier, he had said there was someone else in his heart. She neither cried nor made a scene. She simply handed him a divorce agreement: “Three years. When the time is up, I'll leave.”

He thought he'd gotten a great deal. Only three years later did he realize she wasn't a devoted wife, she was the client. She'd been counting down from day one and had never planned to leave him a way out.

He got down on his knees and begged to renew the contract. She smiled and told him to pursue her.

And in the Pei household, someone could hear her thoughts, someone had been searching for her for ten years, and someone else knew nothing at all.

From his lofty perch to groveling in the dust, Pei Yanzhi was a loser from beginning to end.
