The Feisty Grandma Storms the Set, and Her Granddaughter Plays the Supporting Role

Farming + infrastructure building + starting from scratch + travel between ancient and modern times

Wu Xiuzhi wanted to sell her granddaughter to pay for her younger son’s schooling. The girl refused at all costs, preferring to jump off a cliff rather than marry a widower old enough to be her father. Grandmother and granddaughter both fell, and when they opened their eyes, they were somewhere they had never seen before. There, Wu Xiuzhi heard people speaking a language she couldn’t understand and saw poor people with their arms and legs exposed. In that other world, she learned that men and women were treated equally. From then on, she stopped favoring boys and cherished her granddaughters even more. She brought her second son’s wife, who had only given birth to girls, back into the family. After her younger son passed the imperial examination, he married into a wealthy official’s family. He not only refused to support her in her old age, but treated her like a servant. Wu Xiuzhi decided to straighten out the younger son she had raised so badly. She educated her children in ancient times, ran a street stall, built a grand house, and watched life get better and better! The Wangs struck it rich!
