Summer Begins with a Heartbeat

[Both devoted to only one person] [Two formidable leads]

Marriage first, love later from the heroine’s perspective; a decade-long crush come true from the hero’s.

An arranged marriage finally lets Chi Xu marry the woman he has loved for ten years.

-

Ten years ago, a laboratory explosion plunged Chi Xu, a gifted young man, into endless self-doubt. It wasn’t until he met Yu Zi at school, wearing a white dress, that he began to emerge from the darkness, little by little, guided by her light.

Ten years later, Yu Zi and Chi Xu meet for the first time at a blind date.

Chi Xu is quiet and impeccably courteous, just as the rumors describe him. But beneath his calm exterior, a storm is raging. At every turn, he plays the man Miss Yu would like, because only by meeting her standards does he have a chance of marrying her.

So, on a rainy evening in late spring, they agree to marry and set a wedding date for three months later.

But their marriage sparks plenty of speculation. Most people assume it’s a loveless business arrangement.

At first, Yu Zi thinks it’s nothing more than a simple business partnership. After all, marriage is just another part of the equation for her, a way to take her company to the next level. She has always been clear-headed and knows what she wants.

The rumors say Mr. Chi is disciplined, impeccably proper, and refined beyond compare, a true gentleman. But even a gentleman can lose control.

With the woman he’s secretly loved for ten years living next door, Chi Xu spends every night thinking about how to treat Miss Yu even better, ideally making sure she can never leave him.

At last, three months later, Mr. Chi can finally announce at their wedding that they married because they love each other
