Three Kingdoms: Dad, Keep Playing Dead and I'll Conquer Rome

In the second year of Jian'an, during the Battle of Wancheng, Cao Cao is badly wounded in a night raid by Zhang Xiu.

To test his sons' abilities, Cao Cao decides to go with the flow, announce his "death," and observe them from the shadows.

With Cao Cao's camp leaderless and teetering on the brink, Cao Shuo, his legitimate eldest son, who has been bedridden for years, suddenly sits bolt upright on his deathbed, draws the Son of Heaven's sword, and binds himself to the [System of Eternal Tyrants]!

Cao Pi is still dressed in mourning, preparing to seize power, but Cao Shuo stages a coup and takes the throne! His first military order: march on Henei, execute Sima Yi by tearing him apart with chariots, and wipe out his entire clan!

"Ding! Sima Yi, the 'Tomb Tiger,' has been executed by chariot. Achievement unlocked: 'Uproot the Evil Completely.' Reward: thirty thousand Snow Dragon Riders!"

"Ding! Guan Yu's magnificent beard has been burned, and Wolong has been angered into vomiting blood. Achievement unlocked: 'Destroy the Body and Break the Spirit.' Reward: the power of the Conqueror!"

"Ding! Take Empress Fu as a consort and claim the two Qiaos. Achievement unlocked: 'The Essence of a Tyrant.' Reward: The Testament of Wu Mu!"

So Cao Cao, hiding in the shadows, watches his eldest son's series of utterly deranged acts, swinging wildly between fury and delight.

"You wretch! That's the emperor! How could you make him lead your horse?!"

"Holy crap! How did this wretch wipe out Yuan Shao in just half a month?!"

Years later, Cao Shuo returns in triumph from a western expedition to Rome, leading an army of a million fierce warriors, ready to ascend the throne.

Unable to keep pretending to be dead, Cao Cao rushes out. "Son! Your father is still alive! Hand the power back to me at once. You're wasting too many lives on war!"

The officials of the court draw their swords in unison. "Retired Emperor, His Majesty has built you a palace on the Mediterranean. Please move there at once and enjoy your retirement!"
