The Keeper of the Palace

He is the last of three generations of palace guardians at the Forbidden City. According to the ancestral rule, the guardian of the dragon in this generation must suppress all evil across the land and protect the mountains and rivers of China for all time.

An ordinary young man joins the National Secret Bureau’s Seventh Division, a clandestine Chinese agency for the supernatural, and becomes a low-ranking probationary investigator. He walks the shadowed streets of the city, suppressing the resentful spirits of haunted houses, the baleful forces of forbidden grounds, and strange, evil entities. After repeatedly coming close to death, the Chinese dragon-blood spirit body within him fully awakens. With the power of the dragon vein at his command, he breaks through the limits of martial arts, growing from an inexperienced rookie into one of the bureau’s top combatants.

Forbidden lands erupt across the country as evil spirits run rampant. He ventures into perilous places, seals ancient fiends, and guards China’s borders in every direction. Foreign forces watch hungrily from beyond the borders: Japan’s Onmyoryo, Vietnam’s southern border hexing sects, India’s Brahmanic evil ruins, and the Western Dark Church. Evil practitioners from all four sides join forces to invade, destroy the dragon veins, seize the nation’s fortune, and sow chaos across China, seeking to carve up the foundations of its supernatural power.

With the spiritual qi revival, all manner of evil emerges, and dark forces from around the world encircle China.

Called to take command in a time of crisis, he takes charge of the National Secret Bureau’s Seventh Division. With dragon blood coursing through him, he stabilizes the world, and at the pinnacle of martial arts, slays his powerful enemies.

He cares nothing for gods and demons beyond the borders, nor for evil spirits in this world. Anyone who dares invade Chinese soil or lay a hand on the dragon veins of China will be killed without mercy!

In mortal form, he bears the fate of the dragon guardian, wielding a blade that vanquishes evil to protect the land for thousands of miles. He becomes China’s one and only guardian in this age, remembered for all eternity!
