Ignis is born into a world of swords and divine authority.
He wanted to keep his head down and survive, but on a snowy night at the border, a blood tax leaves him with no way out. Tax collectors seize people, nobles feed on the common folk, and the Church is a fraud. The so-called order of the kingdom is nothing but a butcher’s blade wrapped in the guise of legality.
So he stops backing down.
He protects himself in the name of a fallen noble house and enters the game as a disgraced knight. Starting in the lowest ranks of the army’s suicide squad, he claws his way upward over mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Crows help him spy on the battlefield, nightmares trample the darkness for him, and monsters tear open the iron curtain of the old age.
He isn’t here to save this world.
He’s here to remake it.
While everyone else thinks he’s just a mad wandering knight, Ignis has already set his sights on the distant frontier. There, he will build a new city that belongs neither to the nobles, nor to the Church, nor to the old world.
If there’s nowhere in this world where he belongs, then he’ll build a new world with his own hands. (A self-indulgent story, so feel free to read it however you like.)
