Help! My Scholar Wife Has a Mean Right Hook

Li Chunniang never dreamed she would end up marrying a poor scholar. She thought she would marry a hunter, a butcher, or a blacksmith. The days might not be comfortable, but at least she would have enough to eat. She had a big appetite and could easily eat a man into poverty. Dou Kuan thought he would marry a noblewoman, share a harmonious life with her, and grow old together. Instead, he married Li Chunniang, a woman with an odd appearance and twice his build! He was too embarrassed to admit she was his wife whenever they went out!

So the couple couldn’t stand the sight of each other. They spent their wedding night without consummating the marriage, but made a pact instead: if Dou Kuan failed to pass the provincial examination within three years, Li Chunniang would pack her things and leave the Dou household, and they would go their separate ways. Otherwise, Dou Kuan would divorce her and marry someone else.

They take turns sleeping in the bed and on the floor.

Three years later, Li Chunniang packs her things early, ready to leave the Dou household, but Dou Kuan no longer wants to divorce her…
