War of Resistance: A Taoist Slays Ghosts, Cuts Down Man-Eaters, and Cultivates to Immortality

In times of chaos, “human fiends” emerge.

In times of peace, a “human fiend” might simply be an evil person.

But in that era, the Japanese invaders who burned, looted, and killed for pleasure, committing atrocities against humanity, had long since lost every shred of humanity in their souls. They had become walking “demons.”

In the eyes of cultivators, the whole world was one enormous field of slaughter, crawling with “human fiends” waiting to be executed.

Killing demons and human fiends brings merit.

When ordinary Daoists descend the mountain to slay the enemy, they do so as heroes fighting for their country and its people.

But our protagonist has an additional purpose beyond chivalry: cultivation.

Every time he slays a “human fiend” burdened with sin, he carries out Heaven's justice and earns “Heavenly Merit.”
