Synopsis
Jiang Hao, seventeen, a high school senior with wildly uneven grades and no presence in class.
For the first seventeen years of his life, he’d been the perfect supporting character: highly empathetic, highly adaptable, and reluctant to reveal anything about himself. Everyone knew him, but no one really understood him. He thought his life would always be this way: attend an average college, get an average job, and keep being just the right amount of background presence in a crowd.
Then, during a monthly exam, he opened his eyes in the examination room and found that he had gained a new memory.
This world had Pokemon and Trainers.
And there was a Poke Ball in his pocket.
The problem was, the standard age for awakening as a Trainer was eighteen, and he’d awakened early.
A Ralts, a secret he couldn’t let anyone discover, and an unfinished exam paper.
To register as a Trainer, he had to be tested. To leave the city, he had to register. To level up, he had to leave the city. And to exploit Ally Switch, he first had to find a rookie Trainer who knew the move. Every step seemed like a dead end, and every plan was stymied by the words “don’t let them find out.”
No problem. Keep a low profile and take it slow.
He still had the experience of playing games in his previous life, and the Pokemon move lists were engraved in his mind. If he couldn’t become the strongest Trainer, he could at least become the best at finding loopholes.
After all, awakening at seventeen was worth taking a gamble on.
This is a story about an invisible nobody quietly growing stronger in the world of Pokemon.
No showing off, no face-slapping, no overpowered chosen one.
Just someone taking every step in the shadows, unseen by everyone else.
