A Tangle of Desire

Set in a bygone era: a 1.9-meter-tall military officer with an eight-pack, paired with a fair-skinned, beautiful diplomat. Both are each other’s only one.

Fu Beixiao is wild and untamed, notorious around the residential compound as a reckless troublemaker. He is powerfully built, with well-defined muscles beneath his sun-kissed skin, exuding raw, swaggering confidence.

He takes advantage of her vulnerability, sets a trap to make her jump in, and marries her. Their nights together are filled with passion.

Rong Dai is a white rose bathed in moonlight, with fair skin and a gentle, quiet nature. When she was young, she was used to following others, believing that dependence meant love, until Fu Beixiao stormed into her world like a gale and knocked open her heart with his fearless sincerity.

Fu Beixiao says, “I spent so long building that wall, thinking no one could break through. Then you showed up and brought the whole thing crashing down. Now you’ve taken over both sides of my heart, and even dug up the foundations.”

Many years later, Fu Beixiao sees these words in her favorite book: “I had no one I liked, but after seeing you so many times, I found myself liking you.”

He remembers that night, when she lay beneath him, her hair spilling out like a waterfall. She said something he would never forget:

“I secretly touched you just once, never expecting you to scatter like dandelion seeds, leaving your likeness everywhere. I can’t tell whether I met you that summer, or whether that summer was when I made you mine.”
