He Whips His Childhood Friend, Yet Says He Loves Only Me

[Unhinged heroine + intense push and pull + groveling after betrayal + wealthy-family battlefield]

On the eve of my engagement, Lu Zhiheng’s childhood sweetheart sent me a “souvenir” soaked in his scent, along with a video that shattered five years of love.

In the video, she writhed at his feet, letting out broken sobs. My gentle, refined fiancé, who had treated me like a treasure, ground his leather shoe against her face. His voice was hoarse and lost in a way I had never heard before. “Have you had enough?”

She leaned close to my ear, her breath sweet as orchids, and laughed like a madwoman. “Miss Su, all his darkest cravings were born on my body. I lit the sandalwood incense you smell; I warmed the bed you slept in. Do you really think you ever had him, even for a second?”

The next day, at the engagement banquet, she appeared before the city’s elite wrapped in his suit, her neck covered in red marks that invited speculation. Lu Zhiheng didn’t even glance at me. He pulled that broken, triumphant madwoman into his arms and murmured tenderly, “Be good. Don’t make a scene.”

The whole city waited for me to fall apart. Instead, I smiled, took off the eight-carat diamond ring, and threw it into the champagne tower in front of everyone. “Lu Zhiheng,” I said, brushing my hand over his gentlemanly mask as my red lips parted, “this ring, and you, are both filthy.”

Later, disgraced and ruined, he knelt in the pouring rain for three days and nights, like a dog abandoned by its master, his eyes bloodshot as he begged me to take him back.

But he had forgotten: when the moon he pushed into the abyss with his own hands returns to the world, she becomes an avenging demon who comes to claim his life.

“Lu Zhiheng, this time, I’ll teach you what it means to wish you were dead.”
