[Apocalyptic evolution · No System · High-octane ensemble cast · Not mindless wish fulfillment · Life-and-death struggles]
The year 2100.
Exactly fifty years have passed since the outbreak of the global biological disaster.
At first, everyone thought the infection was just a localized disaster that had gotten out of control. No one expected the number of infected to surge at such an almost uncontrollable rate. Cities fell, communications went down, and civilization crumbled. In just over a decade, nearly every system humanity had built collapsed.
To fight the infected, scientists joined forces to develop a super serum. Those whose bodies fully fused with it gained strength, speed, and reflexes far beyond those of ordinary people. A very small number even awakened special abilities.
But the serum placed extreme demands on the body. Those who weren't physically strong enough suffered organ failure after the injection and eventually exploded.
After the disaster began, two major factions gradually took shape in the country.
One was centered around the military, rebuilt under the government.
They controlled the largest safe zone, the most advanced weapons, and several superhumans who stood guard.
The other faction called themselves the "Scavengers."
Most were survivors living outside the military's safe zones, retired soldiers, and people unwilling to submit to military control. Unlike the military's strict command, the Scavengers believed in surviving the apocalypse on their own terms. They often sent teams into fallen zones to collect supplies, medicine, and food left behind from the old world, while hunting high-risk infected in exchange for the resources they needed to survive.
