Chang’an in Two Mirrors

Su Yao, a graduate student in archaeology, touches a Tang Dynasty bronze mirror without 3C certification at an excavation site. Her soul transmigrates to the first year of the Sisheng era in the Tang Dynasty, where she swaps bodies with the Turkic princess Ashina Yun. She wakes up in a Turkic tent and says, “Sorry, I don't speak foreign languages.” Meanwhile, the real Ashina Yun is at a modern archaeological site, performing a Turkic prostration before a Luoyang shovel. Her advisor diagnoses her with “going crazy from writing her thesis.”

Taking on the identity of a Turkic princess, Su Yao enters the court in Chang'an. The first time she meets Wu Zetian, she blurts out, “Hello, Auntie.” She uses modern debating techniques to leave Turkic envoys speechless, repels the enemy at the battlefield in Lingzhou with a hollow-square formation, urges them to surrender in Turkic through a tin megaphone, and exposes a cyanide murder in the Eastern Palace with a bowl of vinegar. Pei Yan, master of the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, claims, “I only care about the mirror,” but from secretly bringing her malt candy at the Imperial Ancestral Temple to breaking his spiritual core into pieces to seal the rift in time and space before Hanyuan Hall, he risks his life to protect her every time. In the modern world, Ashina Yun tames a car like a wild horse, cleaves a quantum computer with a Turkic battle axe, and ultimately purifies the remnants of the Dark Nether Sect in both worlds at the cost of her own bloodline.
