Liu Yizhu's entire life had long since been laid out for him.
"Yizhu, come on up and read your essay to the class."
The Chinese teacher, dressed in a black tracksuit, slammed a test paper onto the boy's desk.
Liu Yizhu stared blankly. His mother was seriously ill, and he had no heart for studying. Hearing the teacher bellow, he could only stand up reluctantly.
He read aloud:
"My father is the legendary Sun Wukong..."
The teacher's expression grew even darker.
Liu Yizhu paid no attention and kept reading, sinking into memories of his childhood.
He had no memory of his father from when he was little. What he heard most often was his mother, holding him in her arms and proudly saying, "Your father is amazing. He's an immortal who sprang from a stone!"
Back then, Journey to the West was airing, and Liu Yizhu loved watching it.
He believed his father was Sun Wukong.
But if a monkey and a human got together, why was their child a little boy instead of a magical monkey?
Liu Yizhu was troubled by the fact that he was human.
Many years later.
With his father's secret arrangements, Liu Yizhu succeeded in cultivation and was surrounded by guardians who protected his path. Only then did he understand that his mother had never lied to him.
His father really was an immortal who had sprung from a stone, and the foremost cultivator beneath the Primordial Unity Realm.
Unfortunately, there was one small disappointment: his father wasn't a monkey.
