Cheng Wanqing was with Gu Yichen for four years. Each got what they needed: he gave her opportunities, and she provided him with emotional support.

In their fifth year together, the year their contract was due to expire, Gu Yichen’s family discovered his relationship with Cheng Wanqing.

To keep his family from getting suspicious, he began distancing himself from her.
