The deep mountains of the Northeast conceal strange horrors, while the Yin Mountain spirit hall guards the balance between yin and yang!
This is no ordinary spirit-medium hall. It is the last surviving main hall of ghost immortals in the Black Soil region. It does not rely on fox and weasel spirits to preside over it. Instead, it is guarded by the Stele King and commanded by Qing Feng spirits. It holds the Nine Netherworlds’ decree and the Book of Life and Death, dealing with tangled karmic affairs that are hard to resolve in the mortal world and impossible to judge in the underworld.
🔮 What is a Yin Mountain spirit hall?
- Orthodox spirit-medium halls display red banners and venerate foxes, weasels, wolves, and pythons. A Yin Mountain hall alone displays a black banner, worships the Patriarch of Yin Mountain, honors the Stele King as its divine master, and relies on ghost immortals (Qing Feng spirits and smoke souls) as its core forces.
- It does not follow the path of manifesting yang immortals. Instead, it cultivates yin virtue to deliver people from calamity. Its spirit-medium disciples can pass between yin and yang, enter the Nine Netherworlds, meet the City God, and investigate reincarnation, making them the “sole messengers” between the realms of yin and yang.
- As the old generation says: yang halls oversee fortune and misfortune, while yin halls decide life and death! Ordinary halls cannot investigate yin debts, aborted fetuses’ spirits, the grievances of the wrongfully dead, cemetery curses, or household hauntings. Only a Yin Mountain hall can investigate these thoroughly and resolve them at the root.
⚠️ Three formidable arts of the Yin Mountain hall (things other halls cannot do)
1. Journey into the underworld to investigate cases
There is no need to invite a god to possess the medium. The spirit-medium disciple can simply close their eyes and enter Yin Mountain, meet the dead, question karmic causes, investigate debts from past lives, and dispel calamities in this life. Yang immortals handle the affairs of the living; the yin hall has the final say over the dead.
2. The Stele King suppresses evil, making a hundred ghosts flee
The Stele Kings of these halls are usually veteran ghost immortals with a century of cultivation. Wielding banners, swords, decrees, and seals, they can suppress evil forces, capture wandering ghosts, break yin formations, and dispel blood omens. They specialize in “unclean ailments” that hospitals cannot diagnose and Taoist priests cannot cure.
3. Resolve yin debts and set reincarnation right
They specialize in resolving the spirits of aborted fetuses, the resentment of the wrongfully dead, curses on ancestral graves, and karmic debts from past lives. There is no empty showmanship: they cut off yin entanglements at the root and ensure peace at home and safety for the family.

It looks pretty good, I think. I followed several chapters in one go
