Understanding a Baby's Babble Sends the Han Dynasty's Fortune Soaring

Han dynasty, doted-on heroine, adorable baby, baby talk, national destiny, political intrigue, satisfying power fantasy

A history professor drops dead at the lectern. When he opens his eyes, he has become a one-year-old baby in the Yuan'guang era of Emperor Wu of Han.

A head full of knowledge? Useless. His mouth can only babble.

A wealth of strategic plans for fighting the Xiongnu? Useless. His hands can only grab a rattle drum.

He thinks he’ll spend the rest of his life as a Han dynasty baby, eating his fill and waiting to die

Until Wei Qing happens to hear him say, “Ah… Xion… left… ah.”

Three days later, the Han army wins a great victory, taking three thousand heads.

Emperor Wu of Han is stunned. “This is a golden child sent by Heaven to bring good fortune to my realm!”

From then on, the entire Weiyang Palace has just one mission: keep this baby happy and get him to talk more!

Running low on milk? The imperial kitchens rush goat’s milk to him at top speed!

He’s crying? Wei Qing and Huo Qubing take turns making funny faces, just hoping the baby will point them toward a direction to march!

He sneezes? The entire Imperial Medical Bureau stands by, while Emperor Wu personally feeds him medicine!

One day at court, every official kneels to listen to a baby babbling, then frantically takes notes.

When the Xiongnu Chanyu hears the report, he falls silent. “The Han dynasty’s highest military secret… is a baby’s cry?”

Holding the baby, Emperor Wu declares proudly, “With this child, the Han dynasty’s fortunes will flourish for ten thousand generations!”
