The Unhinged Variety Show Mentor Is Here to Stir Things Up

Su Nian, a 27-year-old veteran music producer, unexpectedly transmigrates into the most universally despised, pretty-but-useless mentor on the talent show Starry Journey to the Top: a vicious actress with zero professional ability who rode her ex-boyfriend’s connections to success. On the first day of filming, a contestant humiliates her in public, sending her to the hospital in a breakdown. But after waking up, “Su Nian” decides she’s done being a pushover. She’ll turn the whole internet’s hatred into astonishment. She physically puts lazy contestants in their place, outclasses veteran mentors with her expertise, and defuses a crisis by revealing her own scandalous past during a livestream. With real talent, she redefines what it means to be a mentor and discovers overlooked musical prodigies. She takes on a powerful industry blacklist, exposes the industry’s shady dealings, and drives real change in the music business. Along the way, she meets Lu Ci, an S-tier trainee who seems gentle and refined but shows his true feelings only to her. From controversial mentor to industry revolutionary, Su Nian uses her audacity and talent to become her authentic self in the fake world of showbiz.
