If "Journey to the West" had never existed -
Not destroyed, not forgotten. Rather, it was erased from the source, as if it had never been written.
All derivative works, all childhood memories, all hearts touched by this story - will collapse with it.
This is "pollution".
A strange monster is eroding the foundation of human civilization - literary works. Contaminated stories disappear from humanity's collective memory as if they never existed. What's even more frightening is that the myth is also being polluted. Nuwa patching up the sky, Greek epics, Nordic mythology... The source of civilization is crumbling inch by inch.
The only thing that can fight against pollution is "literary power" - the power derived from the emotional resonance between readers and works.
Chen Shu, an "abstract genius" who doesn't play by the rules, entered the contaminated copy of "Tom and Jerry" by chance. Tom is crazy, Jerry is dead, and he is a mouse locked in the kitchen. The first seven Purifiers all failed, and he was the eighth.
He only had four chances. Every time he gets caught, Tom gets closer to the truth. The fourth time, Tom would kill him.
But the statement doesn't intend to run.
"You don't have to forgive yourself. But you can remember him. Just remember."
This is a war about "forgetting and existence". The battlefield is in "Journey to the West", "Hamlet", "Dream of Red Mansions", in the myth of Nuwa patching up the sky, and in every story that will be forgotten.
And his weapon is not his fist, but the story itself.
Completed Tom and Jerry, Calabash, The Haunting of Bears, and next is Crayon Shin-chan: The Empire Strikes Back, Mythical Moon

Very interesting book
The setting is relatively unique, but the chapters of the story are too short and the descriptions are insufficient. We can look forward to it in the future.
