His Shadow, His Light

The story takes place at a prestigious high school in a bustling city. An Jin was forced into isolation by a family that favored boys and by school bullying, shutting herself away like an island. In her second year of high school, she encountered two very different sources of light in her life: Shen Ting Lan, her cold and taciturn top student desk mate who protected her in silence, and Lu Chen Yi, a brash and domineering young CEO who taught her to fight back. Shen Ting Lan built a safe barrier around her, showing her that the world could be quiet. Lu Chen Yi ignited a fire within her, teaching her to run for her own sake. With the two boys protecting her in their own contrasting ways, one still and one full of action, An Jin slowly pieced herself back together from the fragments. She eventually realized that accepting kindness wasn't weakness, and that true courage meant standing up for herself. Her kindness and resilience also healed Shen Ting Lan's inner loneliness and soothed the turmoil in Lu Chen Yi's soul. This is a story of mutual redemption that begins in shadow and ends in sunlight.
