During the Qianlong period, Jinling Suji Silk and Satin Village was in dire straits. The eldest daughter of the family, Su Jinniang, took over the ancestral Yun brocade loom. Amidst the competition between merchants, government exploitation, and family infighting, she went from a loom to Jiangnan to weave, using Yun brocade as a roll, embroidering the ups and downs of half a lifetime.
