Quit: The Half-Life I Gambled Away

As a teenager, I left home to escape gambling debts and drifted from place to place. In Zhenjiang, I endured the desperate days of living in a cemetery and nearly dying with a rotting leg. As an adult, I went into business, always willing to wager everything I owned whenever trouble arose. In the end, I lost all my money and my marriage fell apart.

Looking back, my life has been full of ups and downs. Every hardship stemmed from two words: gambling addiction.

Drawing on my own experiences, I revisit those foolish years. The characters' names have been changed, but every story is true. This is both a way to account for the first half of my life and a warning to readers to stay away from gambling. Whether or not I get a contract and earn anything, I'll write steadily from beginning to end.
