Top modern forensic pathologist Shen Qingzhi wakes up in an ancient era, disguises herself as a man under the name Shen Qing, and infiltrates the Court of Judicial Review as a coroner. Armed with a scalpel and modern forensic techniques, she solves one bizarre case after another, winning fame throughout the court and drawing the attention of Pei Yanzhi, the cold-faced grand secretary who holds power over the realm.
As they investigate cases side by side, Pei Yanzhi, a severe germaphobe, falls helplessly in love with “him.” Plunged into despair, he questions himself over his “love for men,” but ultimately grits his teeth and decides to take “him” by force. Just as the grand secretary is preparing to force his “husband” into marriage, Shen Qingzhi is gravely injured, and her true identity as a woman is spectacularly revealed!
Pei Yanzhi is overjoyed and transforms completely into a devoted protector of his wife. Together, the two clear the Shen family’s name after their massacre and purge their political enemies from court. In the end, Shen Qingzhi dazzles the realm in bridal red and establishes a medical academy, while the cold-faced grand secretary welcomes the first female physician of Great Chu with a grand wedding procession, forging a legendary age of peace and prosperity.
