She Disguises Herself as a Man to Solve a Cold Case, While the Tyrant Falls for Her

Shen Weiming, Prefect of Kaifeng, is known throughout the Great Liang Dynasty as the “Living King of Hell” and “the biggest mad dog around.” From imperial relatives to civil and military officials, anyone who falls into her hands gets the same treatment: “The law comes first, all are equal before it, no exceptions for family or friends, and I'll crush whoever I please!” The entire capital is waiting for her to offend some powerful person and get her head chopped off by the emperor. Even Shen Weiming herself prays every morning at court: “Could I get dismissed and exiled back to my hometown in Jiangnan to lie flat today? I really can't keep hiding the fact that I'm a woman disguised as a man and guilty of deceiving the emperor!” So when the Princess Royal gallops through the streets? Arrest her! Make her sweep them! When a prince treats human life like nothing? Chop him down! Send him to meet the late emperor on the spot! Shen Weiming is overjoyed: Surely now they'll let me pack up and get out of here? But the supposedly ruthless tyrant looks at the impeachment memorials filling the court and tears up. “The entire court is full of officials forming cliques for their own gain. Only Minister Shen has become a lone loyalist to help me purge the government! She is risking her life out of love for me!” Shen Weiming: ??? Your Majesty, are you all right? One day, the tyrant corners her against the imperial desk and says in a hoarse voice, “Minister Shen, if you were a woman, I'd give you my very life…” Shen Weiming silently lets down her hair. “Your Majesty, why don't you take a look at this first?”
