The Mountain and Sea Beast Emperor

Do you believe it? The Classic of Mountains and Seas is not mythology, but a forgotten history book.

Those mythical beasts never disappeared. They merely slumber in the bloodlines of a rare few. Lu Ming, an ordinary college student struggling to pay his living expenses, is riding a crowded bus when, through a fogged-up window, he sees another face emerge over his own: scarlet as a leopard, with vertical pupils like flames.

It is Zheng, an ancient war beast and the vanguard of all beasts.

Five minutes later, everyone who knows Lu Ming begins to “forget” him. A man claiming to be an agent of the Ministry of State Security finds him and reveals a truth concealed for over ten thousand years: worldwide, fewer than one in ten million people can awaken the ability to command beasts. They are secretly recruited into nonexistent units, fighting a century-long war against foreign beast-taming organizations in places no one knows about. His codename is “Zheng.”

From the moment he is erased from the memories of ordinary people, college student Lu Ming becomes Huaguo’s most classified weapon: the Shanhai Shadow Guard.
