A cat-and-mouse dynamic
Bickering rivals ❌ faked death ❌ ensemble cast
Sharp-tongued, proud top x troublemaking, theatrical bottom
Jiang Queyu ❌ Qiu Shangzhi
[The bottom gets physical in Chapter 33]
Qiu Shangzhi dies, imagining that in his next life he’ll be born into a happy, loving family with a wealthy dad, a gentle mom, and an older brother who dotes on him.
Unfortunately, he transmigrates into a cultivation novel called Lost Place, where he has neither a family nor a home.
He’s a lonely soul, with a beautiful “ghost” by his side.
But the fire in his chest blazes to life again. What do you call this?!
Qiu Shangzhi: “A dashing husband and his beautiful wife!”
Jiang Queyu stuffs a four-joy meatball into his mouth and says coldly, “Have you cultivated yourself into madness?”
Qiu Shangzhi nearly chokes to death. “Please hear me out. I’m the one who’ll be on top!”
“Dream on.”

The serious blurb:
After Qiu Shangzhi transmigrates into Lost Place, the no-ethics System tells him this:
Yueban: “The villain is easy to redeem. With your intelligence, you only need three steps.”
Qiu Shangzhi, unconvinced: “What are they?”
Yueban raises his voice by a full octave: “Step one: love at first sight!”
Qiu Shangzhi protests: “But I’m a man!”
When he first meets Jiang Queyu, Qiu Shangzhi says, “You’re handsome, bro, but don’t get any ideas.”
Yueban: “How is that not love at first sight?”
Then step two is becoming a young widower.
Qiu Shangzhi: “Who’s the wife? Isn’t this about redemption?! You might as well throw another log on the fire!”
Yueban: “That’s how tragic love stories go. Just put up with it and get on with it.”
Having said that, the cat bursts into tears and snot.
“...?”
Step three:
On a bitterly cold autumn day, the wind blows peach blossoms from the branches, and at last Qiu Shangzhi has a home of his own.
