Reborn, I Choose Short Track Speed Skating

Dual male leads: the cool, forthright "curve artist" × the rebellious, tsundere "short-track speed skating demon king" Lin Qingyan was reborn. He returned to the age of fourteen, before his growth spurt, before his knees wore out, with a full five years left before figure skating's growth-related death sentence. In his previous life, at nineteen, he was judged to have "run out of talent" and forced to switch from figure skating to short-track speed skating. He had a gift for cornering, but his strength and straight-line speed were fatal weaknesses. Sixth in the junior championships, fourth in the national championships: always one step short of the podium. At twenty-two, on the final turn of a World Cup qualifier, a skater in the next lane lost control and took him down. His head struck the barrier, and everything came to an abrupt end. After being reborn, he walked through the doors of the short-track team five years early. On the ice, sixteen-year-old Li Teng skated up to him and removed his goggles, his eyes sweeping over the slim figure honed by years of figure-skating training. "Aren't you a little too skinny?" That was the first thing Li Teng ever said to him. Only later did he learn that the sharper Li Teng's tongue, the softer his heart. He called Lin's starts terrible, his straight-line speed slow, and his skating strokes more like mopping the ice. Then he showed up at the rink at exactly five thirty every morning, correcting every angle of Lin's movements by hand. "You could practice that technique ten thousand times and it still wouldn't work." "Then teach me." From reluctant partners to seamless teammates, from lessons on the ice to late-night training sessions, from the national junior championships to relay gold at the World Championships. At the deepest part of the turn, Li Teng pressed close behind him, his voice barely above a whisper. "When we cross the finish line, if you look back at me, I'll take it as a yes."
