Western Fantasy Adventure: From Skybridge to the Ten Thousand Dragons' Nest

(Western fantasy + one heroine + team + adventure + wondrous sights + an ordinary person's rise)

The sky above Aelteria was torn apart by rifts.

Others flew over floating ruins with magic. I relied on the steam-powered iron canister Brock had repaired fourteen times before it managed to wheeze out a single breath. Others crossed the Upside-Down Mountain with a featherfall spell. I relied on a hemp rope and enough nerve to bet my life.

My name is Kane, the most ordinary blacksmith's son in Morningwind Village. I know no magic, have no special bloodline, and can't even get the hang of quenching steel. But I have the faint, undying frequency in Eileen's ears, every rivet Brock hammers into bone, and a group of companions just as “good-for-nothing” as me.

The elven elders say mortals have no right to set foot in sacred places. The dwarven guild calls us lunatics marching to our deaths.

Then let them see for themselves:

When the storm tears apart the star priest's prayers, just how hard a mortal's fist can hit; when the laws bind a druid's shapeshifting spell, just how blunt a half-orc's battle-axe becomes. The place we're heading is so fearsome that even dragons won't look back, and even the rifts find it painful.
