Restore the Ming, Expel the Qing: Starting as a Weapons Instructor

Learning about the history of the late Ming and early Qing, as well as the entire Qing dynasty, has left me deeply troubled. With this book, I want to approach that painful period from the perspective of the martial world. It is not a rigorously accurate historical novel, but neither will it alter the broad course of history. What I mainly hope to express is how, in that era, countless people of noble ideals faced the crushing tide of history and fought on, one after another, keeping the inheritance and spirit of their people alive, generation after generation.

They force people to shave their heads and change their clothes. The Chinese heartland falls, and Manchu iron hooves trample the lands of the Han.

The imperial court crumbles, Western powers watch hungrily, and a civilization of a thousand years stands on the brink of ruin.

I am Qin Mu, a direct disciple of the Heavy Sword Sect. I make my stand with palm and sword, and break through the deadlock with martial arts.

I rally the heroes of Lingnan and resist the Qing cavalry. I fan the fury over the massacres in Jiangnan and kindle the Shandong Boxer uprising.

I face the surging tide of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and with nothing but my own courage, restore the robes and traditions of our Huaxia homeland!
