After Peking Union Medical College Fired Me, I Returned to My Village and Built a Top-Tier Hospital

The day Lin Yi was fired, the surgical notes he had spent five years compiling were thrown out the gates of Peking Union Medical College Hospital like trash. With just 2,000 yuan to his name, he returned to his hometown, a mountain village that could barely afford disinfectant.

No one knew he had awakened a surgical simulator. While others needed three years to master a pancreaticoduodenectomy, he could practice it ten thousand times in virtual space at no cost. Every mistake meant starting over, until the procedure was etched into his muscle memory.

He started by setting bones for elderly villagers left behind and delivering babies from women in difficult labor. From the village clinic to the township health center, the county’s Class II Grade A hospital, the city’s Class III Grade B hospital, and the provincial Class III Grade A hospital, he stepped on the faces of the powerful who had framed him, the monopolizing capitalists, and his former employer who had kicked him while he was down. In a poor mountain village, he built a world-class medical center that patients everywhere clamored to visit.
